I am A. Raheim White and this is a snippet of my journey.

Growing up on Chicago’s Northside as a queer kid was extremely challenging. Being the eldest of 13 children, I was forced to expand into the role of caretaker, while the experience of being bullied and abused caused me to shrink. I was chastised for my loving nature and sweet demeanor. Apparently, these were not fitting qualities for boys.

When I discovered the gift of dance at age 14, it was fated to change the trajectory of my life. Dance allowed me to experience liberation, ecstasy, and joy uninhibited. With support from educators who saw my Light and unyielding desire, this path toward freedom was carved:

I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts and Masters of Fine Arts degrees in Dance Performance & Choreography from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and New York University Tisch School of the Arts, respectively, with a semester study at the Taipei National University of the Arts. Desiring to reconcile my past traumas, I became deeply immersed in mediation and healing while living in Taiwan. In my return to the United States, I was led the healing power of Reiki and crystals. Through my inquisitive nature, I found many indigenous cultures of Africa, Asia, and the Americas understood and integrated crystals for healing. This work was guiding me back to my roots.

While dancing professionally in New York City, I knew I had much healing to do for my self and family. I trained to become a Reiki Master-Teacher and Sound Healer in order to further cultivate tools for this endeavor. These practices began influencing the way I danced, consciously channeling healing energies during performances to aid all who participated in the experience. I have been blessed to grace many spaces, performing and teaching in Taipei, Montreal, Cuba, Hawaii, New York City, Dallas, LA, Miami, Washington D.C., Atlanta, New Orleans, and many other places throughout the US. This broad experience of culture and art aids me in connecting to others authentically.

After cultivating an undeniable connection to Spirit, I was beckoned home to Chicago to continue my personal and familial healing journeys. Chicago was a place of deeper self-discovery that asked me to be of greater service. Here, I became a Certified Yoga Instructor, Social-Emotional Learning Facilitator, and Akashic Record Reader. These nuanced and dynamic trainings provided me with an even greater toolkit for facilitating healing experience.

During The Pandemonium, I was called to lead online yoga classes, meditations, and sound healings for the collective. I worked diligently to hold space and transmute the fear and suffering of others. If you didn’t know, Spirit Work is W-O-R-K, y’all!

At the end of 2020, Spirit instructed me to relocate to Atlanta, GA. This directive provided the gift of a profound connection to Mother Earth, to learn to move in rhythm with nature’s cycles, and of greater self-care and discovery. Through rigorous meditations and ceremonies, The Transformation Wizard was birthed through my being as a way to help others shift from oppressed to empowerment using mindfulness, meditation, and movement. Now, I am based in Salt Lake City, Utah, deepening and sharing this work with the next generation of leaders as the Assistant Professor Head of Movement at the University of Utah’s Department of Theater.

For so long, I was determined to be what everyone else needed me to be for them at the cost of my own wellbeing. As I’ve learned to love myself more, I realized that I needed to get closer to my own center. Here, infinite expansion, possibility, and joy imbue my days. Now, I am assisting others in awakening their inner freedom.

This is why the Transformation Wizard was summoned into existence.
